hauschkas first releases of 2012 come in the form of two stunning remix 12 inches that are pitched at the dancefloor and kick off a wider project of reinterpretations of his last full-length. here, ep1 sees two serious heavyweights of minimal techno delivering very different, yet complentary versions. this 12 inch is the first of two vinyl-only eps, running in advance of a full album of electronically-angled remixes of >salon des amateurs<.
michael forrzas >karma ep< features two deep tracks with a minimal twist embodying music as a spiritual exercise. moving vibrations, a label which only releases music on vinyl.
die stecker wurden gezogen, die drums in der garage gelassen – hansonis kommt heuer auf ganz leisen sohlen daher. akustikgitarre, zurückgenommener gesang und ein paar tupfer e-gitarre, klavier und keyboards – mehr benötigt der musiker nicht, um “shark week“ zu einer zwingenden angelegenheit zu machen. von folk über country und blues bis hin zur mörder - ballade – hansonis schlendert auf seiner melancholischen reise durch die songwriter-genres, veredelt seine songs aber immer wieder durch die entscheidende prise distinguierten 80er-pops. hier ein unwiderstehlicher melodiebogen, da eine prägnante phrasierung – der kölner vermählt us-amerikanische musik - traditionen mit einem britisch geprägten popverständnis und dreht am ende sein ganz eigenes ding draus.

ly sander & michael j. collins join forces to bring you raoul06 via raoul, a deep, soothing ep. no response is a laid back and haunting piece, featuring warm bass and soaring pads. percussion is kept simple here, with the focus on the bass groove and introspective wording. home listening and chill out sessions arent complete without this air-y number. to bring it up a bit, the >deep space orchestra remix< lays a beat and a groove under the track and takes us to galactic depths. a cool energy is spread throughout and saucy percussion takes the levels higher. this is a late night dance track that gives goose bumps. it will certainly help to reconnect senses in the early morning. >russian roulette< displays nice use of delay and relaxed percussion. this hasnt got the boom of techno, but it does have the space-y synths and ambience to bring you up to your feet. when everything is in place, it feels right an afterparty delight.
vinyl only! synths glittering through the night are pierced by metallic percussion and crushed by bass frequencies from a deep abyss! many times have ricardo esposito and micheal nadjé demonstrated their tight dj skills all over europe and now these two brothers have stepped up their game yet again to craft two tracks in a most simple and efficient way that only early chi house is capable of. claps, toms and tambourines rushing fiercely through arped hooks bring back that 87 feeling! the flip transports us back to the present day in the form of two remixes, but wont betray the a-sides spirit. for b1 john spring trades arpeggios for chords and introduces a thump you will surely be able to feel on the floor. kyle, on the other hand, hooks up his analog gear and pulls out synth lines that will get everyone on the dance floor dizzy – but only until the bass line crushes their chests.

the a-side of the record is the epic title track >nieves<, that in a straight way controls the nightly events on the basement floors. nieves is without a doubt taking each and every clubber on a mind trip. thanks to the drums in various arrangements, in combination with the heavy bass, nieves generates a forcing groove that even makes the floor dance.
luke hess reshapes nieves in a consisting and open way. with the given resources the remix is coming to an unsurpassed dynamic, which through percussion and dubby chord patterns is impressively direct. with this interpretation hess respectfully completes the release with sovereignty. vivantes is a classic tool which builds on the foundations of dub and rhythm. through the strongly repetitive pattern vivantes developes to something meditative, grounding the listener at the end of a journey of this extended play.

it would be a complete mistake for any house imprint not to include a us talent in his catalog, this wont be the case for apersonal music. on its third effort the label takes his first journey to the grounds of american house. from arizona, michael j collins with remix rework from bostons house-sons soul clap, plus the first collaboration for apersonal from maurice aymard. a side single nothing wrong with holding on show us the most eclectic side of the label so far. looped vocals, broken house with a saxo on top. michaels talent goes beyond genres mixing elements from different styles to create this great piece of music. soul clap delivers, as usual, top stuff! in their remix they speed up the bpm and add a hip-breaker bassline taking the original track to the dancefloor war zone. second remix from maurice aymard, himself at the controls plus venezuelan producer garnica hitting the drums, they take the track to a trippy slowmo version, what maurices catalogs as his best remix so far.

a new hottie from germany is the guy for some dark sounds. he starts of with >flora< which is undoubtly the sure shot in the sets of all the liebings, speedy js and other more dark heroes of underground techno. on the flipside mr. berkovi layed his hands on the talent of michael and he prooved why he achieved his very own outstanding reputation when it comes to spooky sounds and eclectic sounddesign.
